seven weeks later...

wow i've been bad at keeping this blog up to date. life is just crazy around here! so let me give you all an update on how the boys have been doing!

they both are AMAZING. plain and simple. they have exceeded expectations in every aspect. they are now settled in to programs and are responding to sounds in the normal/mild hearing loss range. i'd say that's a pretty good improvement from profound hearing loss. we've been going to speech therapy once a week for the past six weeks and each week you can see them progressing. our therapist is super happy with their progress! they both turn when their name is called, understand what no means (that gets said a lot around here, especially to judah...) do some mimicking of sounds and speech patterns, and have tolerated wearing their processors way better than anticipated.

as far as other developmental stuff- they are serious walkers now! they both finally took off a little over a month ago and it's been so fun watching them cruise all over. judah is the adventurous one and just takes right off. oliver doesn't mind staying in one place. but that's how it's been since they were inside me so no shocker there! they are still very fickle eaters- one day something is delicious and they can't get enough of it, the next they hate it. and they still throw food/plates/cups/anything sitting on their trays. it drives me crazy! every day i hope the phase is over!! they both loves cars and balls and still love remotes. oliver has started giving kisses! he puckers up his lips and gives you a nice juicy kiss. judah gives kisses too but not as wet as ollie :) they love bath time, being outside and getting filthy, going on walks, and getting into sissy's toys.

they are a LOT of work, and most days they drive me a little crazy, but they are such sweet boys and life is getting more and more fun with them. and we feel so blessed that their surgeries went so well and they have responded in such an amazing way so quickly. here's hoping the next seven weeks look even better!
